What you can do if you lose your hintcatcher user account credentials
As a case worker, you specify the access credentials for your user account when you register your hintcatcher user account. The protection of your access credentials is essential, since without these you will have no access to your user account and thus cannot access the cases in your hintcatcher system. We therefore recommend, among other things, storing the access credentials in a safe place (e.g., in a safe password manager). Further important recommendations and information can be found in the article Information on the end-to-end encryption of the hint data.
If you lose your access credentials, you can no longer access your hintcatcher user account and therefore no longer have access to your hintcatcher system. However, you have the option to perform a password reset and set a new password for your user account.
Due to the end-to-end encryption of the hint data, you will lose access to all hints in your hintcatcher system if you reset your password! Access to existing cases is then no longer possible with your user account! However, another admin caseworker of your hintcatcher system may be able to restore case access to you following your password reset. Please note the information and instructions in this article.
To perform a password reset for your hintcatcher user account, please follow the steps below:
After you have assigned a new password for your user account, you can log in again normally via the login screen at https://manage.hintcatcher.com/.
Optional: Have another admin caseworker restore access to existing cases in your hintcatcher system
After you have performed a password reset, you will (initially) no longer have access to existing cases in your hintcatcher system. You can ask another admin caseworker in your hintcatcher system to restore case access to your user account to regain access to existing cases.
Please note the information and instructions on the subject of “refreshing case access” in this article.
In the event of lost hintcatcher account credentials, you can perform a password reset to regain access to your hintcatcher account. However, it should be noted that you will lose access to existing cases and the access to existing cases can only be restored by another administrator caseworker in your hintcatcher system who meets the relevant requirements.
